About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and passionate WordPress Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress landing pages and custom modules, as well as maintaining and improving existing websites. This role requires a deep understanding of the entire web development process, from design concept to deployment and maintenance. You'll collaborate closely with the marketing team to turn our company and its mission into beautiful and functional web solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build custom WordPress themes, plugins, and modules from the ground up
  • Create high-converting landing pages and marketing campaign assets
  • Optimize website speed, responsiveness, and uptime across devices
  • Perform core, plugin, and PHP updates; monitor and address security vulnerabilities
  • Manage hosting environments (GoDaddy, cPanel), migrations, and troubleshooting
  • Configure and maintain WooCommerce: products, payments, shipping, and checkout flows
  • Implement technical SEO best practices (schema markup, canonical tags, metadata)
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services with WordPress sites
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to translate mockups into live solutions
  • Attend Department D10 meetings as needed to align on deliverables and accountability.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (PHP, MySQL).
  • Deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, including theme/plugin architecture, the REST API, and hooks/filters.
  • Strong experience with WooCommerce, including theme customization, payment gateway integration, and extending core functionality.
  • Hands-on experience managing hosting environments, particularly with providers like GoDaddy or other cPanel-based hosts.
  • Solid knowledge of website security best practices, common vulnerabilities, and how to mitigate them.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
